Licensed in 45 - 60 days
At Ares Beauty and Education, you can achieve your goal of getting licensed and working in a shop sooner. With our apprenticeship program, you start right away with an apprentice license, which permits you to perform all the tasks a state-licensed professional can. This fast-tracks your career, allowing you to gain hands-on experience and start earning income while you complete your training. Program Structure
- State Board Apprentice License: You will receive a State Board Apprentice License.
- Class Schedule: Attend class once a week.
- Hour Requirements: You are required to record 320 academic hours and 3200 salon or shop hours. After completing these, you qualify to take the State Board Exam.
- Practical Experience: Work in a barber shop or salon under an apprentice license, gaining hands-on experience from day one.
Language Options
- Classes are offered in English and Spanish.
- Arabic classes are available at another site.

Enrollment Process
1. Enrollment: Students enroll in our state-approved apprenticeship program, for either cosmetology or barbering. Students complete the 39-Hour Health and Safety Course.
2. Class Schedule: Students come to class once a week for 4 hours, which includes 2 hours of theory to prepare for the state exam and 2 hours of hands-on training.
3. On-the-Job Training (OJT): The rest of the week, apprentices work at a shop of their choice, earning an income while gaining practical experience. Each apprentice is under the guidance of a licensed trainer.
4. Apprentice License: As they work in the salon or barbershop, apprentices receive an apprentice license, allowing them to legally perform tasks in the industry.
5. Training Requirements: Apprentices must complete a total of 3,200 hours of on-the-job training (OJT hours), which is the best way to learn and develop their skills.
6. Support and Mentorship: Throughout their apprenticeship, students receive ongoing support from instructors and industry professionals, helping them refine their skills and prepare for success.
7. Licensing and Career Readiness: Upon program completion, apprentices will be prepared for the state exam, enabling them to become licensed professionals and pursue fulfilling careers in beauty.
